Summary: This week's competition is in and around Aberdeen where it's the turn of oil and gas purchasing specialist Sylvian to host. Sylvian is hoping her attention to detail and an ambitious global themed menu will be enough to impress her guests. Philippines-born Sylvian's dishes are an East-meets-West affair starting with Japanese gyoza followed by a Sumatran rendang and ending with a very British sticky toffee pudding. But dessert turns out to be sticky in more ways than one; cue tears before bedtime from the host.

Summary: This week's competition is in and around Aberdeen where it's the turn of comedy promoter Naz to host. If Naz is to stand a chance of winning the grand, he has to placate his guests, nearly all of whom he has managed to offend over the week. And to add to his challenge, Naz is by his own admission not the greatest cook. But things don't go according to plan and much of his food is burned and difficult to chew - especially some super crunchy sweet potatoes. But eternal optimist Naz thinks that his humour and conviviality will win over his critics and earn him the grand.

Summary: The competition comes from in and around Hastings, where the first host is 52-year-old nursery owner Louise, who's married to a farmer. Louise is hosting a fun-filled evening of Thai food, even though she's never been near Thailand. Her guests are horse-mad Emily, who's 40, 56-year-old Caribbean takeaway owner Clive, 23-year-old beauty therapist Chiara and mature student and self-confessed foodie Gary. A power cut threatens to scupper Louise's night before it's even started, until her husband Roddy and his generator come to the rescue. But will the night impress the guests, and particularly the self-appointed Thai food expert at the table?

Lynsey's decided an Irish themed menu is what will bag her the grand, but the group are more impressed by the fact that Lynsey was an Irish Dance Champion in her younger days. Night three and Jamie is full of confidence, he is after all, a natural born entertainer so keeping three guests happy should be a walk in the park for him. Final night and fashion designer Charlotte wants to introduce a European element to her menu. Unfortunately, it's a big risk and she knows it.
