Summary: Commandant Martin Servaz is under pressure to return and investigate the decapitation and mutilation of a very expensive horse; not the usual task of local police, but the owner of the horse is very rich and provides a lot of jobs to the community. The real surprise is when evidence is found to link this case to an older, controversial case that Martin closed.

Martin looks into why a judge asked for him to be placed on this case and another clue leads him back to Toulouse.
