Summary: Six months after the events depicted in Bouquet of Barbed Wire and the death of publisher Peter Manson's daughter Prue, in childbirth, Peter made the decision to leave his family and now lives alone. Meanwhile, Gavin is still in close contact with Cassie, who is taking care of Prue and Gavin’s infant daughter, Eve. Gavin has also acquired a new girlfriend, Vicky.
