Summary: Distinctly different from the grim, violent, and dark MIRAGE comics from which the Turtles originated, this version of the franchise has remained the longest running, and most memorable, version of all. Four turtles fall into the sewers and are befriended by Hamato Yoshi a Japanese man sent to New York who was forced to live in the sewers. One day he sees a strange green glow which transforms the four turtles into human-like creatures. Hamato (now Master Splinter) changes into a giant rat from the green glow and teaches the turtles the skills of the ninja as they team up with Channel 6 news reporter April O'Neil to battle against Yoshi's arch enemy Shredder and Krang, an alien warlord from Dimension X.

Episode 1: The Return of Dregg

Summary: The Turtles are working on once and for all ridding themselves of their mutations, Donatello makes use of a Virtual Reality Program to test out the effects of a potential cure he has created using the Vortex Crystals. On his home-world, Dregg schemes to return to earth, his chief scientist, Mungg presents the villian with micro-bugs capable of creating advanced machinery in seconds rather than days or months, as well as track down the Vortex Crystals presently being used on earth. Back on earth, Donatello tryies out his cure on both himself and the rest of the TMNT for real. It works, well, at least on MOST of the green machine, one of the microbugs Dregg sent to earth to find the vortex crystals, has located the source at the lair. Unseen, it steals one of the crystals just as Leonardo receives treatment for his own mutation. Summary: Having recaptured the mutated Leonardo, the Turtles quickly restore him to normal using the vortex crystal technology. At first, it seems that the experiment has worked this time, but soon Leonardo's foot starts glowing, he still has the disease, and which means it's only a matter of time until he mutates once more... Dreg commands Mung to take control of a power plant so he can commandeer it's vast supply of Plutonium. April, still itching to sink her teeth into a new story, investigates a chop-chop ring at work in the city. Leonardo completely mutates again, and the TMNT once again are thrown into a heated to coral their slightly-more-mutated-than-usual-leader, which takes them across the city and back. Summary: Aboard the Dreggnaught, Dregg and Mungg are discussing their next move against the Turtles when Mungg informs Dregg that, whilst scouting dimensions, he came across two individuals who claimed they were "old acquaintances of the turtles" - Shredder and Krang! Intrigued by the prospect of using the TMNT's mortal enemies as pawns in his grand scheme, Dregg makes preparations to bring Shredder and Krang back to earth. Meanwhile, Donatello cures Carter of his mutation disease, using the process he used to cure his brothers. Carter, wanting to return to civilization decides the time has come to leave The TMNT and New York behind him, and says goodbye. Elsewhere, at the power plant, Dregg and Mungg activate the Vortex Transporter, which causes a citywide blackout, but in Dregg's eyes, the chaos is all worth the effort, as the transporter succeeds in bringing Shredder and Krang back. But the two villains prove to be as sly as Dregg when they are able to get away from him, proclaiming...

Summary: The Turtles, Shredder and Krang's battles skills, powers, and memories are absorbed into Dregg, and he becomes a super-being. He detains his drained prisoners and prepares to initiate the final stage of his plan to conquer earth by using the matter transporters to project pieces of the very sun itself onto any city of his choosing, he will continue to do so until Earth conveys onto him the title of emperor. Splinter, meanwhile, is visited by time-travelers from the distant future, which has come to aid the TMNT, at the approval of Splinter, they travel back two years, and pluck a team of turtles from the past. But there is a price to pay for this deed, the past Turtles only have 24 hours before they must be sent back, or the turtle's present time line will cease to exist. The past TMNT, together with Carter arrive on board the Dreggnaught, and after a fierce battle with Dregg's underlings, are able to rescue the present-day TMNT, but their skills and experience are still retained...

Summary: Carter, April and the "past" Turtles are being attacked by monsters towering fifty feet over them. The heroes finally escape and get the weakened "present" Turtles back to the lair. April heads off to warn the authorities of Dregg's attack plan. Dregg and his crew plan an invasion of Attack Monsters to take over Earth and make it his new home base, but first he has to get his transporter chip back from Shredder... Meanwhile Krang and Shredder free themselves from the rubble of the caved-in building and head back to the nuclear power plant. Back at the Turtles' lair, the weakened Turtles are revived. The "past" Turtles want to get home. Carter sends out a message to Landor and Merrick to take the Turtles back to the past but he gets no response. Donatello reminds them that the "past" Turtles can only remain for a short while or all eight Turtles will cease to exist! Summary: Dr. Alvin Huxley has demonstrated his breakthrough invention - The Protein Computer, a computer that thinks as fast as a human mind and can be linked to one. When some gangsters break into the Professor's lecture and try to kidnap him, the Turtles arrive and drive the gangsters away. But these are not ordinary gangsters as their boss is is the Globfather, a large slimy green amoeba in a pinstripe suit and fedora. The Globfather is on Earth and wants to get the protein computer for someone who is willing to pay a lot for it.

Summary: With the city breaking apart, the Turtles head to the street to investigate and see the Dreggnaut appear in the sky. They are attacked by bat-men and Dregg himself, but manage to escape. But Dregg already has a plan and, with Mung's help, reprograms the transporter to open a warp in space. According to Donatello, this warp will grow large enough to swallow Earth in two hours, sending the planet to Dimension X. The Turtles and Splinter try to put a stop to Dregg's plan, but get sucked in and separated - Leonardo and Donatello land on a planetoid and Michelangelo and Raphael on another world. Splinter, however, arrives onto the Dreggnaut and tries to override the transporter controls, but has to battle the bat-men. Back at the Lair, April tries using the computer to stop the portal, but it continues swallowing the planet. Summary: The TMNT are confronted by a powerful alien warrior, although our heroes are able to drive the alien back, he manages to grab Leonardo's belt buckle before escaping. The alien returns to a cantina situated on a bizarre planet. Inside, Dreeg is holding a meeting with this world's strongest and most feared combatants, and promises wealth and power to any who are able to last 90 seconds with the Turtles. Back on earth, the TMNT are still puzzled by their earlier battle when another alien appears, the turtles defeat this one also, but he manages to escape with Donatello's Bo. The Turtles do battle with at least three more aliens, and are soon on constant alert for any more surprises. On the Alien Planet, Mung is growing concerned for Dregg's sanity. His burning obsession to destroy the Turtles has caused him to lose all sight of his original goal - To conquer the planet earth.
